## Connectivity in Kohler

What is actually licensed and built around here — the starting point for any coverage job.

| Measure | Value |
| --- | --- |
| Nearest licensed site | 2.4 km west · Bell · 59 m structure |
| Licensed sites within 10 km | 7 (Bell, Rogers, Xplore) |
| Fibre | Metro Loop / Xplore fibre is under construction here |
| Also available | Starlink, fixed wireless |

**What this does and does not tell you.** These are licensed radio sites from ISED’s spectrum database — where carriers are permitted to transmit. It is not measured coverage. A site three kilometres away can be useless if it is behind a rise or its antennas point elsewhere, and a distant one on a tall tower with clear line of sight can be perfectly good. Whether a booster will work at your address comes down to what actually reaches your roof, which is a survey, not a calculation. ## What the work looks like in Kohler

Three carriers hold licences within ten kilometres here, which is a better mix than most hamlets this size get, and the nearest is only a couple of kilometres out. Mobile signal is generally workable outdoors. The complaints are almost always about indoors, and specifically about metal buildings — which is a different problem with a different fix.

The farms around here are the standard North Cayuga pattern of long lots running back from the concession roads. What that geometry does is put the shop and the barn a very long way from wherever the service enters the house, and it is why the phrase people use — "the internet does not reach the back" — is literally accurate rather than a figure of speech.

## What people here ask for

- In-building coverage in steel and metal-clad structures
- Long-lot links from house to rear buildings
- Cameras on outbuildings out of sight of the road
