## Connectivity in Nixon

What is actually licensed and built around here — the starting point for any coverage job.

| Measure | Value |
| --- | --- |
| Nearest licensed site | 4.3 km south-west · Rogers · 90 m structure |
| Licensed sites within 10 km | 10 (Bell, Rogers) |
| Fibre | SWIFT fibre is available here |
| Also available | Starlink |

**What this does and does not tell you.** These are licensed radio sites from ISED’s spectrum database — where carriers are permitted to transmit. It is not measured coverage. A site three kilometres away can be useless if it is behind a rise or its antennas point elsewhere, and a distant one on a tall tower with clear line of sight can be perfectly good. Whether a booster will work at your address comes down to what actually reaches your roof, which is a survey, not a calculation. ## What the work looks like in Nixon

Airfields are all the things that make a site awkward at once: hangars that are large metal boxes, a lot of open ground with nothing to mount to, valuable equipment sitting outside, and buildings spread along a strip rather than clustered. They are also one of the few rural properties where the open ground is an advantage — a link across a runway has about as clear a path as it is possible to get.

The rest of Nixon is residential with farms around it, which puts a fairly ordinary set of jobs a short distance from an unusual one. The countywide fibre is in, so the connection is not the issue anywhere here.

## What people here ask for

- Hangar and airfield coverage, including outdoor equipment
- Links across open ground where there is nothing to mount on
- Residential cameras in the hamlet itself
