## Connectivity in Peacock Point

What is actually licensed and built around here — the starting point for any coverage job.

| Measure | Value |
| --- | --- |
| Nearest licensed site | 5.7 km north-east · Bell · 78 m structure |
| Licensed sites within 10 km | 4 (Bell, Rogers) |
| Fibre | Metro Loop / Xplore fibre is under construction here |
| Also available | Starlink, fixed wireless |

**What this does and does not tell you.** These are licensed radio sites from ISED’s spectrum database — where carriers are permitted to transmit. It is not measured coverage. A site three kilometres away can be useless if it is behind a rise or its antennas point elsewhere, and a distant one on a tall tower with clear line of sight can be perfectly good. Whether a booster will work at your address comes down to what actually reaches your roof, which is a survey, not a calculation. ## What the work looks like in Peacock Point

Distance from a site is not the same as no signal, but at nearly six kilometres with lake on one side, this is the part of the county where what reaches a roof is least predictable. It makes the survey the whole job: there is no sensible way to specify a booster here from a map, and anyone who offers to is guessing.

The cottage pattern compounds it. Places shut from autumn to spring, nobody on site to notice a problem, and a shoreline that hands out weather all winter. A system here has to be specified for unattended operation as a first principle — local recording, sensible alerting, and equipment chosen because it is reliable rather than because it was cheap.

## What people here ask for

- On-site signal surveys where a map cannot answer the question
- Unattended cottage monitoring through the closed season
- Weather-hardened shoreline installs
