## Connectivity in Turkey Point

What is actually licensed and built around here — the starting point for any coverage job.

| Measure | Value |
| --- | --- |
| Nearest licensed site | 1.5 km north-west · Bell · 58 m structure |
| Licensed sites within 10 km | 4 (Bell, Rogers) |
| Fibre | SWIFT fibre is available here |
| Also available | Starlink, fixed wireless |

**What this does and does not tell you.** These are licensed radio sites from ISED’s spectrum database — where carriers are permitted to transmit. It is not measured coverage. A site three kilometres away can be useless if it is behind a rise or its antennas point elsewhere, and a distant one on a tall tower with clear line of sight can be perfectly good. Whether a booster will work at your address comes down to what actually reaches your roof, which is a survey, not a calculation. ## What the work looks like in Turkey Point

Campground WiFi is genuinely difficult and most of it is done badly. Open sites with no walls to mount to, hundreds of users arriving at once on a long weekend, and a backhaul that was sized for an office. The result is the thing every camper complains about. Doing it properly means outdoor access points positioned for open-ground propagation, a captive portal that does not fall over, and honest capacity planning for the July peak rather than the May average.

The seasonal calendar is the practical constraint. Nothing gets installed in July — the work happens between February and April, before the gates open.

## What people here ask for

- Campground and RV park guest WiFi built for peak load
- Outdoor access point coverage over open sites
- Camera coverage on gates, comfort stations and storage compounds
- Seasonal site owner systems that run unattended
