A site three kilometres away can be useless if it is behind a rise or its antennas point elsewhere, and a distant one on a tall tower with clear line of sight can be perfectly good. What the work looks like in Featherstone Point
On the water it is seasonal property and the usual shoreline problems: exposure, months of nobody being there, and a mobile signal that has to travel five kilometres before it reaches anything. Behind it, within a few hundred metres, it is working farmland with barns and machinery and the entirely different problem of getting a network across a yard.
Being in the under-construction phase of the fibre build puts both on the same clock. It is worth doing the inside-the-property work now and letting the uplink catch up, rather than waiting for a connection and then discovering the coverage problem was never about the connection.
