Haldimand County
Fibre is arriving across Haldimand a community at a time. It stops at the house — everything past that is the job.
Metro Loop is building fibre to 19,000 homes and businesses across Haldimand County, and had connected roughly 6,500 of them as of May 2024. Caledonia, Cayuga, Dunnville and Selkirk are live. Much of the rest of the county — Hagersville, Jarvis, Nanticoke, Fisherville, Canfield and a long list of hamlets — is listed as under construction.
That rollout is the reason this work exists. A property that goes from a slow connection to a gigabit in one step does not suddenly have coverage in the shop, the barn or the yard. The provider terminates at one point and stops. Distributing that connection across a working property is a separate job, and it is the one nobody is doing for you.
Haldimand is mostly agricultural — cattle and dairy, grain and oilseed — with heavy industry concentrated at Nanticoke and aggregate operations around Hagersville. Lots run long and narrow off the concession roads, which is why the distance from house to far outbuilding is so often past what any consumer equipment will carry.
